Lisa de Vries (Ssyba) is a painter, poet and self published author, musician, digital artist and graphic designer, tattoo artist and occultist from Berlin.
Through her art Ssyba processes and expresses psychological and spiritual phenomena using ritualistic techniques. As a result she manifests and points out the importance of connecting to our own and the surrounding nature by embracing the dark and light in it equally and letting ourselves go.
The primal force of nature is revealed to the viewer in her canvas art in a minimalistic style using abstract symbols and shapes and organic material such as teeth, snake skin and roots. The gloomy, reduced aesthetic conceals a comprehensive philosophy, which the artist has brought from the edges of the mind and the body and which she expresses in equally abstract poetry.
